Neighborhood description
Built in the 1930s, Parioli is a safe and residential area that has the best of both worlds: it has a wide variety of popular restaurants and a vibrant nightlife, but it is a part of the city that still maintains a quiet atmosphere. This area of the city is situated away from many sites in Rome and though it lacks a metro system, it has a bus system nearby and plenty of taxis that will take you to the historical center of Rome. Locals enjoy a varied selection of bars, fine restaurants, green spaces and public parks; it is one of the most elegant parts of the city and in fact, some consider it to be the most luxurious. The new music auditorium, Parco della Musica, designed by the architect Renzo Piano, has brought new life to the area.
